HPSC Exam Guide 2026

The age limit varies due to relaxations provided to specific groups of applicants and the reserved candidates. Generally, it is between 21 years to 42 years of age. Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification of the HPSC every year.

To apply for any of the HPSC exams, the candidates have to fill the application form available online on the HPSC website: http://hpsc.gov.in/en-us/.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, HPSC exams for 2020 have been postponed until further notice.

Anyone with an Indian nationality can apply for the HPSC examinations as long as they fulfill all the eligibility criteria, including the age limit. The candidates from the state of Haryana do enjoy more relaxations in the age limits and hence get more number of attempts.

HPSC conducts the written exam in two parts: Prelims and Mains. Prelims are the first exam and primarily qualifying in nature. One needs to qualify the Prelims to be eligible for the Mains. The candidates who qualify the Mains exam have to appear for a personal interview with an expert panel. The selection is based on the candidate's performance in the Mains exam and personal interview.

Having work experience in the field will help you during the interviews, but work experience isn’t necessary. Even freshers can apply for the job.
