Q1.Is there any age relaxation given to the candidate belonging to the backward classes outside of Punjab state?
The upper age limit is relaxed for the candidates of backward classes for the Punjab state only. The candidates applying to the position in Punjab Public Service Commission who belong to backward classes from outside Punjab will not be able to avail the age relaxation as per the guidelines.
Q2.Is there any negative marking done in the written test?
Yes, there is a negative marking of -1 for wrong answers.
Q3.Can a candidate raise an objection against the answer key released by the commission for the written test?
If the candidate finds that a solution provided in the answer key released by the commission is objectionable then they can raise a query for the same within four days of the release of the answer key. The commission will release a revised answer key if the objection is found to be viable, but if the objection was raised just for ‘frivolous’ purposes, then the candidate will be marked negatively for the equivalent weightage of that question.
Q4.Where will the admit card of the candidate be made available for the written exam?
The admit card of the candidate will be made available on the official website of the commission at ppsc.gov.in. The candidate will need to log in with their registration number and their details to obtain their admit card online. They must print out the admit card to be carried with them to the examination centre.
Q5.Is it important to give the typing test for the selection for the post of senior assistant in PPSC?
Yes, it is compulsory for a candidate to clear the typing test in both English and Punjabi language with at least the speed of thirty words per minute. This is an integral part of the selection process of the candidates for the senior assistant post because they will need to use the typing skills every day in their work. Also, the selection is based on the merit of the written test along with the performance in the typing test.
Q6.Is it important to have the knowledge of Punjabi language for the post of senior assistant in PPSC?
The acquaintance with the Punjabi language is a must for the selection of the candidates for the post of senior assistant in Punjab public service commission. The candidate must have a certification of having passed Punjabi in matriculation along with the proficiency of typing in Punjabi language.
